November is National Adopt a Senior Pet Month! 🐶
In every shelter and in every rescue, there are senior dogs that have so much love to give. Too many times senior dogs are overlooked because they are a not the cute bouncing puppy that must be the center of your attention. But they will wait forever for your attention. They want to sit by your side, take a leisurely walk and be your companion. Senior dogs will comfort you when you are ill and let you know how happy they are when you come home. Don’t get me wrong puppies are ADORABLE, but seniors are GRATEFUL. Puppies are demanding… senior dogs are patient.
Most shelters and rescues have senior dog programs to encourage adoption. Animal Aid Society where I volunteer is no exception.
If you are thinking of adding a new family member, stop by a local shelter and ask about their senior dog program… You just may meet your new best friend. - Pam Christiansen
If you are looking to adopt or even volunteer check out the Animal Aid Society located in Hampton. They are always looking for help to give these dogs a little extra love💙❤️!
“The sun setting is just as beautiful as the sun rising .... adopt a senior pet.
Their time with you is more important than your time with them.”
