yorktown rotary club

With over 34,000 clubs worldwide, Rotary International is an incredible service organization that provides humanitarian projects to improve communities at home and abroad. Yorktown Rotary is behind so many events you might have already heard of on the Peninsula, like the Freedom Run in Yorktown on Memorial Day and their yearly disabled Veterans fishing trip! In addition to all that, they also have an awesome community project building right now at Yorktown Beach! Check out their website to see all their projects and volunteer opportunities.

alternatives, inc

We hear time and time again that children are the future, but what’s always forgotten is that children are also the now. Day 30 of our non profit series highlights @Alternatives, Inc., an organization that is dedicated to exploring the ideas and creativity children exhibit today while giving them the education and programs to lead others tomorrow. In addition to the programs they facilitate for children after school and in community centers, Alternatives also provides learning opportunities for teachers and professionals who work with children to improve themselves professionally in every spectrum.
